Cartier and Santos Dumont

On october 19th of 1901, Santos-Dumont won the Deutsch de la Meuthe award after piloting his Dirigible Nº 6 from the Saint Cloud Park to the Eiffel, finishing his percurse in around 30 minutes. This feat was celebrated in the same night at Maxim's Restaurant. Among the invited person where Louis Cartier, a close friend of the pioneer of aviation. On that time, Santos-Dumont complaint to Cartier about the difficulty of looking his pocket watch to set exact time of his flights. Louis Cartier worked on it and in March of 1904 came out as result a wristwatch with leather bracelet and clasp to tight it Santos-Dumont... The Cartier Santos was officially present on october 20th, 1979, in the museum of art of Paris, together with the Demoiselle 1908, the last airplane made by Santos-Dumont. In 2001, a limited series was presented to the Latin America and "Caribe " as a contemporary interpretation of the original design of Cartier.
