The science of measuring the time linked in a logical way to the Astronomy, that attracted, in the first civilizations, the most prominent men of science. In such way Astronomers, Physical, Mathematical, Priests, Doctors and Philosophers worried about the creation of instruments that could mark the elapsing of the time. In a primitive way, the man started to divide the time in night and day. The following step was the division of the period of the day in certain numbers called hours, and this was possible because of the movement of the bodies shade illuminated by the sun. |
